GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

• When to Sow: September to October (natural autumn sowing) or March to April.

• Sowing: Sow onto the surface of moist, reliable seed compost. Do not cover the seeds, as they require light to germinate. For best results with spring sowing, the seeds benefit from a period of cold (stratification)—place the sown tray in a cold frame or fridge for 2–4 weeks before moving to the warmth.

• Temperature: Once stratified, maintain a temperature of 15°C – 20°C.

• Germination: Can be slow and irregular; usually occurs within 21–42 days.

• Care: Ensure the soil never dries out. Transplant seedlings into pots once large enough to handle and plant out in their final position in late summer or autumn. They prefer full sun or partial shade and love rich, moisture-retentive soil.
